Tell us what you need, who it is for, and roughly when you need it. Andrew reads every enquiry and will reply personally within one business day. Nothing costs anything until you accept a written proposal.
What happens next
No obligationAndrew will reply personally within one business day. It will not be an automated sales sequence. If the studio does not do the kind of work you need, he will tell you. Where possible, he will point you towards someone better suited to it.
If it looks like a fit. The next step is a free conversation, usually about thirty minutes. We talk about your business, what the site needs to do, and what a successful result would look like. You do not need to arrive with a formal brief.
Then a written proposal. You will usually receive the proposal within a week. It sets out the project’s scope, the price, and the timeline. If something needs changing, we change it before you agree to the work.
Money. Nothing is payable until you accept the proposal. If you do, there is a 50 per cent deposit to begin and the balance is due at launch.
Questions we get asked
SevenCan I edit the site myself?
There is no dashboard to learn because there is no dashboard.
When you need a small change, send it through and we can make it for you. On a care plan, small changes are handled within a business day and often the same day. Without a care plan, they are simply quoted as small jobs.
New pages and larger sections are quoted separately.
Can I host the site somewhere else?
Yes.
The hosting account is in your name from the beginning, so you already control the site, and we transfer the source to you whenever you ask. Care is optional, and if you stop it later the site continues running.
What if you stop trading?
You still own the site and the accounts it runs in, so it can continue running without us.
You also receive a handover document. If another competent studio needs to take over the site in the future, they should have what they need to do so.
Do you write the content?
Yes, when it is part of the project.
Copywriting is a discipline in its own right, so it is scoped separately from the design and development. We would rather help you structure and write the content than leave you staring at a blank page and hoping the words arrive.
Do you do logos and branding?
Yes.
Sometimes that means a simple mark. Sometimes it means a fuller identity system. It can be part of the website project or we can work alongside a designer you already use.
Do you build on WordPress?
No.
We build static sites with Astro. There are no plugins to break, no application server to maintain, and no database behind the site.
If a project genuinely needs a live editing system, we will tell you rather than take the work and try to force it into a system that does not suit it.
Do you use a CAPTCHA on the contact form?
No.
You will sometimes see precise figures quoted for how much CAPTCHA reduces conversion. We have not been able to trace those figures back to reliable primary research, and our own corpus holds no research on CAPTCHA.
So we do not replace one unsupported number with another.
Instead, the form uses passive checks that the person submitting it never has to see or solve. That is a design judgement rather than a research finding, and we think it is useful to be clear about the difference.
